The Dragon is a symbol of prosperity in the East. Powerful and wise, it is the emblem of the Emperor. Dragon and Emperor are one and the same, and everything to do with the Emperor is described in dragon terms - the dragon throne, the dragon face - even the Emperor's step is referred to as the "dragon walk".
